NEW FOR 2000 UES4000C Pilotstation

The Pilotstation provides 4,000 watts of continuous ultrasonic energy for small production or pilot-plant applications. It is the answer to the "scaleup problem" which has, in the past, prevented many otherwise useful processes from reaching the marketplace. In the past, many useful sonochemical processes and products have been "lab bound". Because they were discovered and optimized in a laboratory environment, they often could not be successfully brought up to commercial scale. But now, processes can be developed at the 4,000 watt level, and easily brought on-line, without the uncertainties inherent in the "scaleup" process.

For this reason, we expect that the Pilotstation will quickly become the preferred platform for serious sonochemical development.

The Pilotstation is now available. Both 4000C models and 6000C models are now being delivered, and the Pilotstation series can be expanded in steps of 2,000 watts to 16,000 watts. The UES4000C, at $24,000.00, is the smallest unit in the Pilotstation line.

The UES4000C Pilotstation measures 31 inches wide by 22 inches high by 19 inches deep ( that's a 24-inch steel ruler in the photo ). The shipping weight of the 4000C is 125 pounds. It is supplied with a stainless steel 6 liter flow-through reactor vessel. The reactor vessel with transducers measures 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches by 14 inches long.

Because four thousand watts supplies about 1,000 calories per second to the solution under treatment, it will raise the temperature of a static 6,000 cc by ten degrees C per minute. The operating temperature of the reactor vessel must be held low, to a temperature of only a few degrees C. Also, most processes proceed best at temperatures near zero degrees C. For these reasons, operation of the UES4000C requires external cooling by commercial "chillers" and heat-exchangers. These chillers should have cooling capacities in the range of 6,000 watts and above, to "keep up" with the cooling required.
